The Costa Verde Express alternates direction from week to week, so you can begin in either city. The route and excursions are the same; the difference is the order and your travel logistics.
Eastbound: Bilbao → Santiago
Begin with the Guggenheim and end at the cathedral of Santiago — a satisfying build toward the end of the Camino. Convenient if you fly into Bilbao and out of Santiago.
Westbound: Santiago → Bilbao
Begin in Galicia and finish in the Basque Country, ending on Bilbao's art and pintxos. Convenient if you are continuing east to San Sebastián or France.
Our tip: choose by your flights and any extra nights you want before or after. We'll confirm which 2026 dates run in each direction and arrange hotels at either end.
